Oaks Park Roller Skating Documentary

Scope: Aspects of the rink we hope to explore are: artist skating, speed skating, Adult Skate/2Raw Skate Club, Gay Skate, and community members who have a passion for skating outside of these organized groups. We will focus on the stories of individual skaters, which together will tell the story of the rink as a whole. History of the rink and park will be included as well.

Scale:  The film could end up being on a small video streaming service like Vimeo, or hopefully a larger streaming platform if it attracts attention during the fundraising, filming, or film festival process. Once the film is finished and edited, we plan to submit it to film festivals to gain interest.

Length: The current goal is to create a feature length film, about 60-90 minutes.

Timeline: Documentaries take time, and the timeline is hard to predict. This film could take anywhere from one year to a few years filming off and on and following people’s stories. At a minimum, we definitely want to follow competitive skaters through one season of competitions.
